SENSOR EXTRACTION PROTOCOL & DAMAGE PREVENTION

The primary failure risk during overhaul is damaging the linear sensor rod. Mechanics must never pull on the sensor rod directly. To safely remove the connector assembly, four M12 threaded rods must be installed into the connector head to pull the assembly evenly from the cylinder tube after removing the external set screws and plugs.

REASSEMBLY, PISTON LOCKING & FLANGE INSTALLATION

During reassembly, the piston is torqued onto the rod (right-hand thread) to 1000 Nm. To prevent detachment under high pressure, three 24 mm deep holes are drilled at the piston-rod interface (120° apart) and tapped for M12 threads. Set screws are installed 3 mm below the surface and secured by punching the surrounding piston metal.

Use 4x M12 threaded extraction rods for sensor removal, lock piston set screws via center-punching (3x M12 @ 120°), strict torque compliance (1000 Nm / 465 Nm), and Loctite 542 application.
